Focus:  Lousy Economy.  Need Money?

Don't let the pundits mislead you.  Yes, these are dire times.  Yes, the money is tough to come by.  Yes, you will likely need a business plan to get much money of any kind.

But it IS there.

Venture capital has been sitting in coffers for a long time now.  VCs aren't letting go easily, but there is a lot there.

SBA has funding.

If you've got an existing business, try Cash Advances.  It's a great source for ready cash.

Bootstapping is very much in style.

Small Business IPO's are still going strong.

The US, and world, economy is settling into a period of "hard to get money".  It's not something new.  It happens every few years.  This one is a bit more staggering that the dot-com bust of 2000.  The dot-com bust hit the big mucky-mucks in the venture capital world.  I think a lot of let go a grin when they got their come-uppance.

This economic slowdown is going to touch everybody in one way or another.

If you think you will be needing money over the next few years, get it now.  Don't wait.  It's not going to get better for 2 to 3 years.  Really put your business plan in shape.  Have a really good reason why you need financing, with a really strong payback program, and you'll do fine.

"Superior to what?" asked Pooh.

"I don't know, Pooh.  I've tried to think of something, but I just can't come up with an answer."

"If people were Superior to Animals, they'd take better care of the world," said Pooh.

"That's true," I said.
