Got to chatting with Debs, an online friend.
The topic turned to hair. Honest. Before you know it,
we were giggling about the fact that we no longer have "bad hair
days", ironic in that our lovely coifs aren't seen by much of
anybody.
Bingo! That's why our hair always
looked great -- there was nobody there to judge it but ourselves, and we
thought we looked pretty good.
The conversation really tickled
me. Here we are, a couple of aging broads who should be looking at
retirement. Instead, we're in the middle of burgeoning internet
businesses, and loving every minute of it.
To top it off, we're probably working
harder than most people who work in offices. A "day off"
is usually only one or two hours on the internet, instead of the usual
ten hours.
But that's right in line with what
study after study shows for people who are in business for
themselves. We all work longer hours, more days, and may not make
more money than our "hired-out" buddies, but we're
happier. It's that "happiness" part that is really hard
to argue with.
We feel in control of our lives.
AND we have the support of our spouses when we work on "off"
days, unlike our office counterparts.
I wake up with a smile in the
morning. And keep that smile pasted there nearly all day.
Life just doesn't' get any better than that.
May you have many Great Hair Days, too!
