Angel Investors in Canada

Angel investors in Canada tend to invest nearby.  It's pure economics -- angel investors from Vancouver find it very expensive to travel to Houston to oversee their investment. 

I have been amazed at the number of collaborations between Canadian and US angel investment firms over the past few years.  The pace seems to be picking up, as more and more angel groups form partnerships to take advantage of the best available on both sides of the border.

There is no significant difference between Canadian angel investor groups, and those in the United States.  All of the groups are looking for the few companies that will make them a success.  

While there is no particular industry that Canadian angel investors look for, it's a good idea to read each web site carefully.  As with other geographical area, there are differences in what type of industry each group looks for, as well as the amount of investment that each is willing to commit.
