I have a new project I want to start. But please show me how to write a business plan and a proposal.

You've certainly come to the right place. Start with the Links to 101 Business Plans, the welcome gift you receive when you sign up for a newsletter. That will show you the basic structure of a business plan and the types of information that you will need.

Then look at the Business Plan Templates for the type of business you are starting. Odds are you will find a great sample business plan, with a lot of additional information too.

Event at a club to obtain sponsors

Hi there

I am looking to throw a party at a night club as schools break up and would like to obtain mainly alcohol sponsors to enable us to cover costs of marketing and venue hire.

Basically there are 4 people involved in this venture and we all have some form of party credentials (eg National 2002 DJ champion etc.)

That's pretty much what I did, except that I studied your pages for a couple of weeks to find out how to really write a business plan. It's gotten a lot harder lately, hasn't it? My banker actually smiled when I handed him the business plan. He said not a whole lot of people even know that they should do one. Thanks! Kirsten from Chicago
