What will you find in the 7 Step Business Plan?  We are glad you asked.

Business plans are both very consistent, and very unique.  They are consistent because they each contain a certain amount of specific information, such as

• Vital stats on the company
• Marketing information
• Biographical information
• Financial summaries

Each business plan is also unique.  It represents YOUR business, and your business alone.  There is just no way that two restaurants, for example, can use the same "fill in the blank" template.  One restaurant could be a local hot dog stand, while another might be a waterfront high end dining establishment.  The amount of information needed for each, and the presentation for each, varies considerably.  That holds true for any industry.  Each business is unique.

The 7 Step Business Plan series is designed to help you pull together the information you need for YOUR BUSINESS, into a format that works for funding YOUR BUSINESS.

Your 7 Step Business Plan has three components:

	A pdf file. Your Workbook .  (The workbook for a coffee shop is pictured, but your workbook will be for your business.) I hesitate to call it an "instruction book", but it is stuffed with all the information you need to create a dynamic business plan for your business, rapidly and easily. 90+ pages.  One section is devoted to information specifically on YOUR INDUSTRY.
	A Microsoft Word file. Your Template. This is the actual template that you will use for the text of your business plan. You can change it, switch it, mess it up, or use it just as it is. Use all the formatting tools in MS Word that you already know.
	A Microsoft Excel file. Your Financials. This is the actual set of financial summaries that you will use in your business plan. You can add, delete, mess it up -- or format it -- with all the tools in MS Excel.  For basic plans, use these actual worksheets.  For more complex plans, draft your numbers and take them to an accountant.

Throughout the whole creation process, you have complete control over what to use, and what not to use.  That's important.  You know better than anyone else what needs to be there.

Using Templates That Are Included

We know that just telling you to "write your biographical information", for example, isn't terribly helpful.  But it is important.  So, to help out, we've included a number of templates and samples for your use, such as

A Word About Sample Business Plans

Yes, we do include sample business plans in every single 7 Step Business Plan set.

But please don't use them.  These are business plans created for another business, often a long time ago.  Look for inspiration from them, then let them go and create your own business plan.  Trust me, yours will be so much better than theirs.
