How to write a Book Proposal?

by Connie
(Trinidad, West Indies)

I was asked by a Publisher to submit a book proposal representing my work, but I simply do not know how to start or attempt to start to write a book proposal. Can you please advise me?
Thank you.
Regards,
Connie Hernandez

Book Proposal

Connie, a book proposal is very different than a business plan. A book proposal typically includes a chapter or two completed, plus an outline of the whole book. How extensive the outline would be is probably dependent on how complex the topic is. Your proposal would also normally include an outline of your credentials for writing on this topic. Your contact person may need to share this information with others in his company, so include material that you have already sent him as well.
