It is hard to over state the dramatic difference that the internet has made on our world, both personal and business.  Companies that used to be tiny mom and pop business can now sell literally around the world, instantaneously.  While the number increases by the second, it is safe to say there are hundreds of millions of businesses on the web.  Whether your business is already there, or yours soon will be there, it is a part of business that no longer be overlooked.

There are thousands of books, and more thousands of websites about starting your own business online, so let's focus in on one aspect of it:  financing your online business.

How Much Money Do You Need To Finance An Internet Business Plan?

There are ads that tout "for $19 a year you can sell everywhere!"  And others that offer the same service for many thousands of dollars.  Who do you believe?  In a sense, they are both correct. 

For just a few dollars a year, you can get space on the web.  It will be blank space, with nothing on it, but it will be yours.

For a few more dollars, you can get what is called a "blockbuilder" system.  With that, you can get "your space" on the web, and have access to hundreds of templates so you can create your own website.  There is also website marketing and online stores to consider.

And for the thousands of dollars each year you can have someone else do it.

So how much you need depends entirely on how you will build your online business.  So start there.  Simply define what you want the website to accomplish, and how sophisticated it needs to be.

The "Success" Part Of Your Internet Business Plan

How well you have defined your online business is the real key to your internet business plan funding success as well.  Clearly set out your goals in your business plan, and explain how you derived those goals.  Bankers will not intuitively know what you are doing -- you will need to set it out in black and white for them.

Demonstrate how this selling tool will increase business.  Show that you know your stuff.   Your financials will be invaluable here.  Show "before" and "after" website sales figures and profits.

If you are using an outside service to build your website, include a page telling about their prior successes, with links to other websites they have created.  And, if they have no prior successes, why would you bother using them?

If possible, include initial screenshots of your business website.
