My Biz for women is a great new online resource and women -- and for men.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has launched MY BIZ for Women, a new online tool designed to provide comprehensive business information to women entrepreneurs.
The Web portal provides information on starting and growing a small business, including gaining access to capital and contracting opportunities.
Other resources link women to other government agencies and SBA resource partners that offer business counseling, a state-by-state listing of SBA's Women's Business Centers and more.
One item that caught my attention is the Gulf Opportunity Pilot Loan (GO Loan) Program. Under this program, the SBA is initiating a one year Gulf Opportunity Pilot Loan (GO Loan) Program to expedite small business financing to those communities severely impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Under this unique initiative, the Agency will provide its full guaranty and streamlined and centralized loan processing to qualified lending partners that agree to make expedited SBA 7(a) loans available to small businesses located in those disaster areas.
