Intel Corporation is re-opening its venture capital fund in Austin, Texas\

After a two year void in leadership, Intel Corporation's venture capital investment arm, Intel Capital, is re-opening shop in Austin, Texas. Why Austin? Seems that Intel Capital sees a strong entrepreneurial spirit there.

But any company anywhere in Texas may benefit from Intel Capital's venture capital fund. I assure you, there is enough money to go around.

Intel Capital is looking for companies that focus on mobility, enterprise platforms, enterprise software, digital health and digital home technology. Intel Capital also hunts for companies producing technology that lowers the cost of semiconductor manufacturing.

The investment firm doesn't release the amount of venture capital it invests in each company, although outside reports put their investments in millions of dollars.

Lately Intel Capital has been broadening its reach in Asia, particularly China. It's nice to see the venture capital fund come home to the Texas range.
