Two Paths To A Work From Home Christian Business

A business plan for a work from home Christian business can take two different paths, and both are very exciting!

Path #1: Your Business May Represent Christian Products or Services

There are so many possibilities here.  A home based Christian business might

• Sell prayerbooks
• Sell custom covers for prayerbooks
• Offer counseling specific to your religious beliefs
• Sell hand crafted silver crosses
• Import Christian products from a workers group in South America

There are hundreds and hundreds of products/services that a work from home Christian business might represent.

When I was in high school, one summer I worked for a couple that had developed a series of printed workbooks based on Christian ideals.  (This was long before videos even.)  I stuffed envelopes for their direct mail campaign.  They reached thousands of potential buyers that way.

You can still reach thousands of potential buyers, but at a fraction of the cost.  Today's mailers are called "websites", and they aren't nearly as hard to develop as you might think.  Take a month or two to learn the website basics, and you will be on your way.  Your business can literally reach around the world in no time at all.

Whether you are selling products or offering services, the internet just can't be beat, especially for a work from home Christian business.

Path #2: Your Work From Home Christian Business May Demonstrate Christian Ideals

I know several webmasters who are unabashedly Christian, and even one who is a Rabbi.  And there's a Moslem or two as well, and some Buddhists, and some other religious beliefs too.  One has a web design business, another has a business making fancy hats. 

The secret is not to have a business that says, "This is a Christian business", but to have a business that ACTS with Christian ideals, with both suppliers and customers.  Do unto them as you would like them to do unto you.  And with some customers and suppliers, that is no small task.

There is absolutely nothing anti-Christian in having a work from home Christian business that specializes in children's birthday parties.  But the games you prepare for the children probably won't use guns or embarrass anyone.  It is a mindset that says, "I will have a strong business, one that draws on my Christian beliefs and attitudes."  Once that mindset is real, the whole world opens up.  Why, you might have

• A tailoring shop in your back room;
• A tea room in your gazebo;
• An editing service for Christian oriented writers;
• A pottery shop with amazing designs from nature as well as from your Christian tradition;
• A car shop for custom painting old cars;
• A website for crystal horse collectors;
• A book about raising children with Christian ideals;
• A handyperson business;
• A catering business specializing in business lunches for local businesses;

... and you name it!  Simply put, it is about conducting your  business with Christian ideals.

Starting A Home Based Christian Business
